University of Hawaii is requested to study the feasibility of redeveloping land at TMK (1) 2-8-015:001, adjacent to UH Manoa campus, into workforce housing and other university-affiliated uses.

Study must include a conceptual development plan with a market study and steps needed for development of the parcel.

University of Hawaii must submit findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than 20 days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2025.

Resolution notes Hawaii needs 26,000 to 47,000 new housing units before 2030 and that UH is planning to demolish a building, relocate the College of Education, and move the UH Childcare Center from the property.
