Task Force on Beach and Water Safety is requested to resume convening regular meetings and submit annual reports as required by law, effective since Act 190 (Session Laws of Hawaii 1996).

Task Force has not met since December 12, 2012, despite statutory mandate to regularly convene and provide annual reports to the Legislature.

Department of Land and Natural Resources previously claimed the Task Force was no longer necessary due to adoption of chapter 13-8, Hawaii Administrative Rules, but Legislature maintains the Department cannot ignore legislative mandate.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources and the Administrator of the Division of State Parks.

Task Force must provide a substantive current status report to the Legislature as soon as practicable, including accomplishments, inventory of warning signs on public beach parks, and effectiveness data on drowning and injury prevention.
