Repeals Act 4, Special Session Laws of Hawaii 2021, which required the department of education to publish weekly reports on schools with confirmed COVID-19 cases among students, staff, or affiliated individuals.

Cites concerns that frequent public disclosure of COVID-19 case information may compromise individual privacy, enable harassment and social discrimination, and create disruptions from inquiries beyond the school community.

Notes that since August 1, 2022, the department no longer requires indoor masking and that increased home testing makes accurate case reporting difficult.

States the department will continue other mitigation strategies including hand washing hygiene, staying home when sick, and promoting vaccinations.
