• Requires the Department of the Attorney General to assist with preparation and filing of assisted community treatment petitions and related court proceedings for private petitioners, unless the petitioner declines assistance.

• Authorizes psychiatrists or advanced practice registered nurses to request the director of health to file an assisted community treatment petition after examining a person.

• Permits the Family Court to use online hearings for assisted community treatment petitions in accordance with family court rules.

• Requires the Department of the Attorney General to report to the Legislature prior to the regular sessions of 2024 and 2025 on the number of requests for assistance with assisted community treatment petitions.

• Appropriates funds to the judiciary for fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 to obtain resources and increase compensation for guardians ad litem in assisted community treatment cases; effective June 30, 2050.
