Limits civil liability for good Samaritans who provide emergency nonmedical care or assistance to animals without compensation, protecting them from damages except those resulting from gross negligence or wanton acts.

Applies only to persons acting in good faith at the scene of an emergency who do not receive payment or expect compensation for their assistance.

Preserves existing liability protections for licensed professionals under other state laws.

Takes effect June 30, 3000.
