Amends Chapter 139, Hawaii Revised Statutes by adding a new section requiring the Law Enforcement Standards Board to create or adopt training materials on recognizing Alzheimer's disease and related types of dementia.

Training materials must include strategies for recognizing key signs of dementia, assessing cognition, best practices for interacting with persons with dementia, and identifying situations where persons with dementia may be at risk of abuse or neglect.

Requires law enforcement officers to review the training materials for a minimum of one hour each year at no cost to officers.

Board shall seek funding from nonprofit organizations to develop the training materials and may coordinate with law enforcement employers and utilize educational resources from public and private sectors.

Effective date: July 1, 3000.
