• Establishes a silver alert program within the Department of Law Enforcement to rapidly disseminate information about missing vulnerable persons.

• Allows law enforcement agencies to request silver alerts for persons aged 60 or older, cognitively impaired, or developmentally disabled who are missing under unexplained circumstances and believed to be in danger.

• Requires law enforcement agencies to have utilized all available local resources and determines missing person has gone missing under unexplained or suspicious circumstances before requesting activation.

• Authorizes the Department to use wireless emergency alerts, be-on-the-lookout notifications, electronic flyers, and changeable message signs to disseminate information about missing persons.

• Appropriates funds from general revenues for fiscal year 2024-2025 to establish and operate the silver alert program, with effective date of July 1, 3000.
