Amends section 846-2.7(b) of Hawaii Revised Statutes to allow the Department of Health or its designee to conduct criminal history record checks on applicants for hemp processor permits.

Adds two subcategories under item (41) of the criminal history record check authority: individual applicants or individuals acting on behalf of entities applying for hemp processor permits, and all license applicants, licensees, employees, contractors, and prospective employees of medical cannabis dispensaries.

Takes effect July 1, 3000, with an automatic sunset on July 1, 2027, when the law reverts to its previous form.

Makes conforming amendments to update statutory references for hemp processor permits under section 328G-2 and medical cannabis dispensary provisions under sections 329D-15(a)(4) and 329D-16(a)(3).
