Expands workers' compensation medical benefits for firefighters to include coverage for breast cancer and cancer of the female reproductive organs, in addition to existing coverage for leukemia, multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and cancers of the lung, brain, stomach, esophagus, intestines, rectum, kidney, bladder, prostate, and testes.

Applies to firefighters with five or more years of service whose cancer claims are accepted or determined to be compensable.

Mandates employers pay for medical care, services, and supplies at 110 to 150 percent of fees prescribed in the Medicare Resource Based Relative Value Scale applicable to Hawaii.

Recognizes research showing female firefighters face increased risk of breast, cervical, and uterine cancers and may develop cancers at earlier ages than the general population.

Takes effect upon approval and does not affect rights and duties that matured or proceedings that began before the effective date.
