HI HB2012

Removes the aggregate compliance loophole that allowed property owners with multiple parking facilities to meet electric vehicle charging requirements across different properties instead of within individual lots.

Requires each parking lot with at least 100 spaces at places of public accommodation to have at least one electric vehicle charging space, regardless of charging availability elsewhere.

Authorizes counties to adopt ordinances regulating electric vehicle charging systems for places of public accommodation with fewer than 100 parking spaces.

Authorizes counties to establish penalties for failure to comply with charging requirements or maintain electric vehicle charging systems in working order.

Takes effect July 1, 3000.
