HI HB2051

Expands the Hawaii Property Insurance Association's mandated insurance coverage to include commercial properties, greenhouses, shade houses, and mixed-use properties (such as transient accommodations or residences with commercial enterprises operating on the property).

Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 431:21-105 to specify that the association must formulate a plan of operation covering real property including these new commercial property types, in addition to tangible personal property.

Removes language that previously limited commercial insurance coverage to amounts not exceeding residential coverage limits, allowing the association broader flexibility in offering commercial products.

Takes effect January 1, 2025.
