Appropriates $3,544,683 from general revenues to the Department of Education for fiscal year 2024-2025 to support Kaiapuni (Hawaiian language immersion) programs.

Establishes 3.0 full-time equivalent Kaiapuni education curriculum specialist II positions to develop curriculum and pedagogy expertise.

Establishes 10.0 full-time equivalent Kaiapuni classroom teacher positions to provide instruction in the 22 existing Kaiapuni program schools.

Addresses growing demand for Hawaiian language immersion education, which has seen enrollment increase by approximately 1,400 students over the past decade while resources have declined since 2008.

Effective July 1, 2024.
