HB 2211 Summary

• Adds new section to Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 78 establishing limitations on executive branch employee salaries

• Prohibits boards or commissions from authorizing base salaries for any position (civil service or exempt) that exceed amounts designated in the enacted budget or other legislative enactment

• Prohibits employees from being paid base salaries exceeding amounts designated in the enacted budget or other legislative enactment unless approved by the legislature

• Takes effect July 1, 2024

• Does not affect rights, duties, penalties, or proceedings that existed before the effective date
