• Exempts the administrator of the Law Enforcement Standards Board from civil service laws by adding the position to the list of exempted civil service positions.

• Expands Law Enforcement Standards Board membership from 15 to 19 voting members by increasing law enforcement officers from 2 to 5 and adding one member selected by the union representing police officers in the State.

• Removes the December 31, 2021, deadline for the board to finalize standards and certification processes, and requires the board to conduct its own study evaluating how to efficiently satisfy its duties while considering relevant prior studies.
