Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 76-16(b) to add three positions in the Employees' Retirement System (ERS) to the civil service exemption list: Deputy Executive Director, Chief Compliance Officer, and branch managers.

Includes a grandfather clause protecting the civil service status of any current incumbents in the Deputy Executive Director position or branch manager positions at the time of enactment.

The exemption allows these ERS positions to be filled without following standard civil service recruitment procedures.

Takes effect upon approval.
