HB 2446 - Disabled Persons Parking

• Authorizes the Examiner of Drivers to suspend a person's driver's license upon notification that the licensee has violated section 291-57(a) regarding improper use of disability parking permits.

• Adds new violations to disability parking permit regulations, including displaying a permit issued to a deceased person and establishes fines ranging from $250-$500 for violations, with reduced fines of $25-$100 for permit holders who simply failed to display a valid permit.

• Requires courts to distribute 50% of fines imposed for disability parking permit violations to the law enforcement agency that issued the citation.

• Authorizes each county to enact ordinances to enforce design and construction requirements for accessible parking spaces and establish penalties for non-compliance.

• Permits county-appointed officials to enter properties of public accommodations to enforce applicable disability parking ordinances.
