Adopts, establishes, and designates the shaka as the official gesture of the State of Hawaii.

Defines the shaka as extending the thumb and smallest finger while curling the three middle fingers, used in salutation with the front or back of the hand presented, with optional wrist rotation for emphasis.

Adds a new section to Chapter 5 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to codify the shaka as the official state gesture.

Legislature findings recognize the shaka's Hawaiian origins, its positive cultural meanings of aloha and connection, and its value as a brand symbol for the state's economy and global recognition.

Takes effect July 1, 3000.
