Requires the Department of Public Safety, in collaboration with the Department of Human Services, to develop and establish a social work training program for nonviolent incarcerated individuals to pursue careers as assistants to licensed social workers.

Allows the Department of Public Safety to coordinate with accredited institutions of higher education, private entities, and nonprofit organizations to provide social work training.

Directs the Department of Public Safety and Department of Human Services to jointly submit progress reports to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2024 and 2025 regular legislative sessions, including findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation.

Appropriates general revenue funds for fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 to develop and establish the social work training program (specific dollar amount left blank in bill).

Takes effect June 30, 3000.
