Expands pharmacist scope of practice to allow ordering and performing collection of specimens for diagnostic tests and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)-waived tests.

Permits pharmacists to perform diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2, respiratory illnesses including influenza, streptococcal pharyngitis, and liver function issues, excluding tests requiring vaginal swabs, venipuncture, or seminal fluid collection.

Requires pharmacists to complete appropriate training from accredited pharmacy education programs or state/local health department programs before performing these tests.

Requires pharmacists to obtain a permit pursuant to section 321-13 before exercising authority to order and collect specimens for diagnostic or CLIA-waived tests.

Effective June 30, 3000.
