Prohibits installation of gas appliances in new construction (residential and commercial structures) beginning January 1, 2025, in Hawaii.

Applies to gas appliances including heaters, refrigerators, stoves, ranges, dishwashers, dryers, air conditioners, and decorative fireplaces.

Exempts gas appliances that can be demonstrated to the Hawaii state energy officer as necessary to safeguard public health and safety.

Requires the Hawaii state energy officer to notify all gas appliance installers of the prohibition ninety days after June 30, 2023.
