Establishes the Hawaii Sports Task Force within the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to plan and coordinate efforts to secure major sporting events for Hawaii.

Task force will focus on attracting National Football League events (Pro Bowl and preseason games), world-title soccer tournaments, Ultimate Fighting Championship tournaments, and other sporting events to Aloha Stadium and statewide venues.

Task force membership includes the governor, state director of business/economic development/tourism (as chair), mayors of all four counties, Hawaii Tourism Authority CEO, legislature members, Chamber of Commerce and lodging association representatives, county economic development board representatives, and a Hawaiian cultural specialist.

Task force shall meet quarterly and dissolve on January 5, 2024; must submit findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2024 regular session convenes.

Members serve without compensation, with expenses paid by their respective agencies or organizations; task force is exempt from Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 84 conflict of interest requirements.
