Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 201-13.8 to authorize the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to collect and analyze wages and hours of employment data from employers in the State.

Requires all employers subject to chapter 371 to maintain records of employees, wages, hours of employment, current physical address, and North American Industry Classification System code for one year.

Grants the Department access to employer records pertinent to wages and hours of employment and authority to demand copies of records on forms prescribed by the Department.

Maintains confidentiality protections for individually identifiable information and allows the Department to withhold competitively sensitive information including survey forms, coding sheets, and database records.

Effective date is June 30, 3000.
