H.C.R. NO. 149 Summary

• Request that the Department of Education provide students, parents, principals, teachers, staff, and the general public with the Department's bullying procedures.

• Department of Education principals, teachers, and staff are requested to disseminate bullying procedures to students in various forms, including posting information in prominent places at school and school functions.

• Bullying procedures are guided by existing Civil Rights Policy and Title VIII, chapters 19 and 89, Hawaii Administrative Rules, covering definitions, reporting, investigations, disciplinary actions, appeals, and parent notifications.

• Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
