Department of Agriculture is requested to create a plan for developing an Invasive Pests Placard Program requiring nurseries, farms, and agriculture-related businesses to display placards showing their invasive pest status.

Placard system should classify and clearly communicate the severity of invasive pest infestation and types of invasive pests reported by the Department of Agriculture to be present at each business location.

Department must assess resources needed to implement the program and submit the plan, resource assessment, and recommendations including any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days prior to the 2025 Regular Session.

Resolution aims to reduce public purchase and transportation of plants containing invasive pests by providing clear information about which businesses have invasive pest infestations.

Certified copy of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture.
