Requests the Board of Education to amend its valedictorian designation policy to recognize only students with exceptional academic achievements based on academic honors, grade point average, and performance in rigorous academic courses.

Current policy allows valedictorian designation for students with a 4.0 grade point average who earned one of the Honor Recognition Certificates, which may include non-academic, career, or technical-based achievements.

Resolution argues that limiting valedictorian status to academic accomplishments would reinforce the importance of academics, provide incentives for student success, and maintain the traditional meaning of the title.

Directs the Board to review and revise the valedictorian policy to ensure future valedictorians are selected based on exceptional academic accomplishments in core classes (Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science).

Requires certified copies of the resolution be sent to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
