HI SB1018

Adds new section to Chapter 127A, Hawaii Revised Statutes, governing medical facilities during emergencies declared by the governor, mayor, or during health/pandemic emergencies.

Requires the governor to ensure continuity of service by both public and private medical facilities by regulating the continuation of services during declared emergencies.

Permits hospitals to suspend elective surgeries at their discretion to address operational limits and bed capacity constraints during emergencies.

Defines "hospital" as a facility licensed under section 321-14.5.

Takes effect on June 30, 3000.
