HI SB1161

Requires state military personnel (army, air, and navy national guard and state defense force) ordered to active duty to be paid without delay from the date of deployment at the same rate as active duty counterparts.

Entitles all military personnel called to active duty to basic allowance for housing, subject to rules adopted by the governor.

Allows officers and warrant officers to directly deposit their pay by electronic means to personal banking accounts.

Amends sections 121-39, 121-40, 121-42, 122A-8, and 123-8 of Hawaii Revised Statutes to implement these changes.

Takes effect July 1, 2023.
