Creates a new bargaining unit (16) for adult corrections officers of the Department of Public Safety's Corrections Division or its successor agency, separating them from the institutional, health, and correctional workers bargaining unit (10).

Excludes adult corrections officers from bargaining unit (10) by adding language that institutional, health, and correctional workers include all such workers "excluding adult corrections officers."

Applies the same collective bargaining procedures and impasse resolution mechanisms to the new bargaining unit (16) as apply to other specialized bargaining units.

Preserves all existing rights, benefits, and privileges currently enjoyed by adult corrections officers under state law, including those under chapters 76, 78, 87A, and 88, with no break in service during the transition to the new unit.

Effective date is July 1, 2050.
