Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 26-34, subsection (f) to remove the exemption for ex officio members of boards and commissions from procedures governing board member selection.

Clarifies that ex officio board and commission members are subject to the same selection procedures as appointed members, except for the board of trustees of the employees retirement system.

Exempts ex officio members seated before this Act's effective date from the new requirements.

Takes effect upon approval.
