HI SB2591

Imposes a $1,000 fine on private landowners who fail to disclose and record burial or archaeological sites on their property that they knew or should have known of.

Requires disclosure to occur either with the Bureau of Conveyances or in documents used to offer real property for sale.

Directs all fines collected under this provision to be deposited into the Hawaii Historic Preservation Special Fund.

Amends Chapter 508D and Section 6E-16 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to establish the penalty and fund mechanism.

Takes effect upon approval.
