SB 2919 Summary

• Clarifies county authority to regulate the time, place, manner, and duration of land and structure use through zoning ordinances, with regulations not creating different types of uses based on these restrictions.

• Authorizes counties to amortize or phase out transient vacation rental units in any zoning classification area, expanding beyond the previous limitation to commercial, industrial, resort, and apartment zones only.

• Expands the transient accommodations tax definition to include shelters and vehicles with sleeping accommodations (effective January 1, 2025).

• Effective July 1, 3000, except Section 3 (transient accommodations tax expansion) which takes effect January 1, 2025.
