• Establishes a qualified internship grant program administered by the Department of Education through a competitive bid process with an eligible 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to provide grants to businesses and organizations employing student interns.

• Requires internship applicants to provide descriptions of daily tasks, expected learning outcomes, and confirmation that internships are approved as part of a department-approved work-based learning program.

• Sets minimum internship standards: compensation of at least $12 per hour, no more than 15 hours per week during the academic year and 40 hours per week during holidays, and maximum employment duration of 150 hours.
