S.B. 3133 Summary

• Authorizes the Department of Health to conduct fingerprinting and criminal history record checks on applicants for hemp processor permits and individuals acting on behalf of entities applying for such permits.

• Adds hemp processor permit applicants as a new category (paragraph 41(A)) to the list of entities authorized to conduct criminal history record checks under Section 846-2.7, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

• Also authorizes criminal history record checks for medical cannabis dispensary license applicants, licensees, employees, contractors, and prospective employees, and individuals permitted to enter dispensary facilities.

• Takes effect on December 31, 2050.
