Requires the Department of Education Committee on Weights to consider inequities or negative consequences of its weighted student formula recommendations on small and remote schools when developing funding formulas.

Mandates the committee report identified inequities or negative consequences to the board of education and provide funding adjustment recommendations to address them.

Defines "small and remote school" as a public school that is: located at least one hour's drive from the nearest public high school; located in a county with population under 200,000; an elementary school with fewer than 200 students; or a secondary school with fewer than 400 students.

Addresses concerns that the weighted student formula established by Act 51 (2004) has disadvantaged small and remote schools, causing budget shortfalls and teacher losses.

Takes effect upon approval.
