Department of Education must provide a report to the Legislature on public-school class sizes.

Report must include the number of classes at each school exceeding optimum class size ratios defined in Board of Education Policy 106-2, organized by subject matter and grade level.

Resolution cites research showing class-size reduction is one of four evidence-based reforms proven to increase student achievement, with particular benefits for low-income and minority students.

Certified copies of the resolution must be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
