Urges state departments to require households affected by the August 2023 Maui wildfires in Lahaina to exhaust their insurance policies before requesting financial support from the State.

Encourages state departments to provide guidance and assistance to affected households in navigating insurance claims processes and accessing available benefits through their policies.

Notes that temporary non-congregate housing is costing the State $1,000,000 per day and the State has already spent or obligated $200,000,000 through the Major Disaster Fund.

Urges prioritization of state resources to households that have demonstrated genuine need for support after exhausting all available insurance coverage.

Requires transmission of a certified copy of the resolution to the Governor.
