Hawaii State Public Library System is requested to establish a Hawaii Deaf Culture Digital Library accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing community.

The library system must consult with Big Island Deaf Club, Signs of Fun Program, and other relevant stakeholders during creation of the digital library.

Library system must submit a report with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2025 Regular Session convenes.

Digital library aims to provide accessible materials on topics including library services, deaf culture, American Sign Language, and related programming, modeled after similar initiatives in Virginia and Maryland.

Certified copies of the resolution will be transmitted to the State Librarian, President of Big Island Deaf Club, and Camp Director of Signs of Fun Summer Camp Hawaii.
