• Request Department of Agriculture to establish a Sustainable Food Systems Working Group led by the Deputy to the Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture

• Working Group membership includes 15 members representing state departments, legislature, University of Hawaii, and nonprofit organizations focused on food systems and sustainability

• Working Group directed to develop an interagency food systems plan addressing 7 planning themes including food security, social equity, sustainability, and circular economy

• Plan must include 18 planning elements covering public health, food safety, land access, ecological sustainability, workforce development, and food governance, with scientific indicators and metrics to track progress

• Working Group to submit plan and implementation recommendations to legislature by 20 days prior to convening of 2025 Regular Session
