Department of Health is urged to conduct a study evaluating Hawaii residents' engagement with online activities that can be inherently addictive and disproportionately affect vulnerable and minority populations.

Study should include a prevalence survey measuring participation in social media, internet gaming, pornography, mobile phone use, gambling, and high-risk stock and cryptocurrency trading.

Resolution references Hawaii's 2023 participation in a 33-state suit against Meta Platforms, Inc., Instagram, LLC, and other companies for designing addictive platform features.
