Requests the Department of Education to provide a report to the Legislature on public-school class sizes in Hawaii.

Report must include the number of classes at each school that exceed the optimum class size ratios in Board of Education Policy 106-2, broken down by subject matter and grade level.

Cites research from the Institute of Education Sciences, National Education Association, and U.S. Department of Education studies demonstrating that smaller class sizes improve student achievement, particularly for low-income and minority students.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
