Requests the Hawaii Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists to develop a process for individuals to evaluate whether news sources adhere to ethical and objective journalistic standards.

Cites concerns about independent local media collapse, consolidation of legacy media, social media misinformation, and artificial intelligence's role in spreading unverifiable information.

Requires the Hawaii Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists to submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than 40 days before the 2025 Regular Session convenes.

Notes that other states and countries have established task forces, media literacy campaigns, and legislation to address misinformation problems.

Directs transmission of a certified copy of the resolution to the President of the Hawaii Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
