Urges the United States Geological Survey (USGS) to conduct topographical surveys to update USGS Miscellaneous Field Studies Map 2193, the long-term lava-flow hazard map for Hawaii Island, which was last updated in 1992.

Requests surveys focus particularly on lava-flow hazard Zones 1 and 2, which represent the highest-risk areas including volcanic summits, rift zones, and adjacent downslope areas on active volcanoes.

Calls for updated surveys to include more detailed risk assessments based on elevation differences within each lava-flow hazard zone to better inform state and county emergency management agencies and affected residents and businesses.

Notes that since the 1992 update, Kilauea Volcano's geologic history indicates future activity will continue to threaten residential areas on the volcano's south flank, despite most recent lava flows remaining within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
