Department of Education is requested to develop and implement a statewide behavioral health curricula plan for public school students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Curriculum must include age-appropriate information on mental and emotional health, personal health and wellness, healthy eating and physical activity, safety and injury prevention, violence prevention, tobacco use prevention, alcohol and drug use prevention, and sexual health and responsibility.

Department is requested to review and determine which courses will integrate the behavioral health curricula into existing coursework.

Only qualified health teachers are requested to teach behavioral health courses.

Certified copies of the resolution are to be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
