Adds a new section to Chapter 266, Hawaii Revised Statutes establishing limited liability protection for individuals who render firefighting services with firefighting vessels at commercial harbors, roadsteads, or state-controlled waterfront improvements.

Protects firefighting personnel from civil liability for acts or omissions during firefighting operations, except for damages resulting from gross negligence or wanton acts or omissions.

Applies to firefighting services performed upon reasonable command by someone known to the person as a firefighter at any commercial harbor, state-controlled waterfront facility, or vessel within a commercial harbor or roadstead.

Takes effect on July 1, 3000 (note: contains apparent typographical error in effective date).
