HI HB1291

Expands the offense of false labeling of Hawaii-grown coffee to include roasted coffee, in addition to existing coverage of green coffee, cherry coffee, and parchment coffee.

Establishes a mandatory minimum fine of $7,500 for each separate offense of false labeling of Hawaii-grown coffee, which cannot be suspended or waived.

Specifies that each act of false labeling of Hawaii-grown coffee constitutes a distinct and separate offense, allowing multiple charges for multiple false labels.

Maintains false labeling of Hawaii-grown coffee as a class C felony offense.

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
