Requires all state and county-owned vehicles purchased on or after January 1, 2028, to use broadband technology audible reverse warning systems instead of traditional tonal back-up beepers.

Defines "vehicle" to include earthmoving and compacting equipment such as bulldozers, graders, loaders, scrapers, tractors, and similar equipment.

Broadband alarms use pulsed acoustic signals across multiple frequencies producing a "pshh-pshh-pshh" sound, while traditional tonal alarms emit a single-frequency "beep-beep-beep" sound.

Legislative findings indicate broadband alarms are approximately two-thirds more effective than tonal alarms at preventing workplace fatalities and reducing urban noise pollution.

Act takes effect upon approval.
