Establishes May 22 of each year as "Maritime Day" in Hawaii to preserve maritime history and celebrate the maritime industry's contributions to the state's economy and culture.

Adds new section to Chapter 8, Hawaii Revised Statutes designating Maritime Day as a day of observance, not a state holiday.

Recognizes Hawaii's seafaring history from its original voyaging settlers and notes that maritime operations at state harbors provide essential supplies including food, clothing, construction materials, and fuel.

Takes effect on July 1, 3000.
