• Establishes strict liability for the victim's age (60 years or older) in crimes against elders, removing the requirement that the defendant knew or reasonably should have known the victim's age

• Amends assault in the first degree (§707-710) to remove knowledge-of-age requirement for causing substantial bodily injury to persons 60 or older

• Amends assault in the second degree (§707-711) to remove knowledge-of-age requirement for causing bodily injury to persons 60 or older

• Amends theft statutes (§708-830.5 and §708-831) to remove knowledge-of-age requirement for theft from persons 60 or older, including theft from the person and theft of property valued over $250-$750
