Adds new definitions to Hawaii law for ".50 caliber rifle," "assault rifle," "assault shotgun," "detachable magazine," and "fixed magazine," with specific technical specifications for each category.

Prohibits the importation, sale, transfer, and possession of assault rifles, assault shotguns, and .50 caliber rifles effective July 8, 2025, with exceptions for licensed dealers, police chiefs, and lawful owners who registered them before that date.

Allows registered owners of assault rifles, assault shotguns, and .50 caliber rifles to possess them only on private property, at licensed repair facilities, at firing ranges or competitions, or while transporting them unloaded in an enclosed container.

Expands the prohibition on high-capacity detachable magazines from pistols to all firearms, maintaining the ten-round limit for detachable magazines.

Persons obtaining assault rifles, assault shotguns, or .50 caliber rifles through bequest or intestate succession have 90 days to render the weapon inoperable, sell/transfer to a licensed dealer or police chief, or remove it from the State.
