Designates Hawaii as a Purple Heart state to recognize and honor Purple Heart recipients and their extraordinary courage, service, and sacrifices made in the line of duty.

Adds a new section to Chapter 5 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes establishing this designation.

Acknowledges Hawaii's history of supporting its active military and veteran population, particularly those who have been killed, wounded, or died of wounds received in armed combat or international terrorism.

References the Purple Heart's origins as the Badge of Military Merit created by General George Washington in 1782, making it the oldest military decoration in present use.

Takes effect upon approval.
